The Birmingham News reported today that Governor Riley supports the bailout. He also says that Congress exists for the sole purpose of helping people.
Robert, you oughtta know better after 12 years in office. Get it together and pass this critical legislation!!!

Why? Might be because the free market should be the one who decides what should be done with the bursted bubble.
This bailout package was bad from the get-go, and now that banks have had it for over a month now what have they done with it? Have the liquidated the market with new credit? NO! They're hoarding it and buying out other banks!
Do you still support the bailout, even after your overwhelming lose? Might have been a reason why you lost. I know I voted for him because of you hounding him in the Tuscaloosa News, bashing his decision which was because a majority of his constituents were AGAINST The Bailout package, those of us who were well INFORMED knew that this wouldn't help the people, and now we know that we were right.
